Sad, Sad Discovery of Once Upon a Time Racing Great

Classic Ninkynonk Racing - Battaglin Race Bike Discovered in Dire State.

This is a sight, which will have legions of vintage race bike enthusiasts in near tears. The once famous Ninkynonk Racing-Battaglin left dishevelled, un-ridden and unloved in a Pendine barn to gather dust and rust.

The Bike originally owned and raced by `Hairy` Henry Jones aka The Pontcanna Albino Sasquatch is it has to be said rather small and heavy. However this did not stop the international software sales manager racking up many great achievements on it.

This bike has graced many a Col and Mountain and amongst it most notable achievements while under Jones ’ stewardship and command once, held for a time (approx 35 metres following a jump start by Jones) 2nd place in the 2009 Daffodil Classic. It also led to an almighty failure on the flat leg of the Mont d ’ Aberbeeg near Abertillery.

Edwards is planning to put the bike up for sale on Internet online auction sites and he believes given the huge interest in the bike that it could fetch a two-figure sum.

Just back from a solo 30 miler to Llandeilo and back " on the bang" first time for a while and no Andy to hide behind into the headwind on return leg. "Why no Andy?" I hear you ask. Well he was last seen tucking into a freshly baked family size Boreki pie at 1am this morning after our gig at the Mariners in Laugharne. The pie is currently working it's way through the big mans colon and is expected to make an appearance later this afternoon...

The Three Mariners

Friday 27th August
The return of The Two Fat Cyclists 'fatter than ever' to the old stomping ground that is The New Three Mariners, Laugharne. A first set of new songs had a mixed reception: an 'ambitious' rendition of The Band's 'The Weight' was received with mild applause and Damien Rice's Volcano was met with a stunned silence.

The Second set comes along and all hell is let loose as words are forgotten, chord sequences of genuine 3 chorders are lost in the cataclysmic aberration that has been advertised as live music. Like a rabbit in the headlights of a 3 chorder Phil crumbles under the expectation of the drunken throng. Andy is berated by the barmen for pinching Phil's words and both entertainers exit stage right to the safety of the snug.

Phil 'the comeback' Jenkins digs deep and after a serious team talk from his manager (Ping Pong) he walks proudly back on stage and wins the crowd over with storming renditions of 'Purple Rain', 'Jolene' and 'Can't take My Eyes off You '.

'Superb', is the comment that flashes up from the very drunk 'Ant's Hill Mob', as Phil concludes a roller coaster of a night with an unforgettable 'Hotel California'.

£60 collected for the N.S.P.C.C.

Thanks

Is it time to fess up to being a closet chunky monkey and join us on the Herbalife gut loss programme?

Admitting to the existence of an issue is the first step to a new life for you. A life which will include gagging on pink frothy gunk that has been sold to you by a skinny, sinister looking bloke from Pendine (your mate Vincent – the only skinny man in the village).

Dr. Vince MD will weigh you, tell you your metabolic age, how fat you really are (which is obese in your case) and if you’ve got big bones... He’ll then load you up with his products at mates rates of which he knows little or nothing about and it will all be done with a wrinkly thin smile....Who knows, in a couple of weeks you may even be able to see you ribs again cause god knows you ain’t seen them for a while have you....

So come on and have a go at shedding one or two of those tyres and that extra chin. We’re starting on Tuesday weigh in is at 6pm in the barn. I reckon your pushing 16st....

You know it makes sense......
